London Adventures

London has always been one of those places that to me feels like home. My father was born and grew up in London so it is somewhere I have been travelling since I was a little girl.
This time whilst visiting London I decided to feel more like a tourist and visit all of the major sights again.Whilst I have family friends who live on the outskirts of London, my family decided we wanted a hotel which was central, so we stayed at a hotel in Earls Court. Earls Court is right near Kensignton, where the royals William and Kate have their home. Unfortunately for us we never got a glimpse of them!

To start our tourist adventures we visited the Queen's home, or as it's formally called, Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace is truly extraordinary, with golden gates and soldiers who can keep a straight face all day (no seriously, how do they do it?!).

After that we grabbed some ice-cream and took a walk through Hyde Park in Central London. If you keep walking to the end of the park it leads you to where the Big Ben is located. I always find the walk through Hyde Park to be quite relaxing as you pass along a lake home to hundreds of ducks and geese.
Right next to the Big Ben you will find the gigantic ferris wheel, the London eye. Unfortunately, the line for the London eye was incredibly long and we were time poor, so you may want to keep that in mind if you are considering on going on the ride.

As I am travelling with my family and my younger 10 year old brother, we thought it would be a fun (and yum) idea to go to the M&M World London located in Leicester Square.
M&M world is spread over 4 large floors and has an extensive range of merchandise, including kitchenware and clothing. It even has a giant wall of chocolate where you can custom make you own M&Ms colour combination and flavour (my favourite is peanut!). We definitely did not leave there on an empty stomach!

Besides visiting the major sight attractions, the rest of the week we spent in London we caught up with friends and did loads of shopping! A great place to shop is Oxford street which has lots of designer brands and affordable commercial stores like the Nike Factory, Top Shop and River Island.
Another trendy area to visit which has some of the best restaurants (including the best indian food) is Carnaby Street.
